Curacao licences & Skrill payouts out here making me laugh… and not in a good way when 2.8 % of my payout volume just vanishes to chargebacks like it’s nothing. KYC at sign-up, 3DS ticked off, $25 representment fees screaming “fraudsters win” — where’s the actual fight back?

Nudge me here — what’s the bit where 3DS feels like a ‘tick box’ even when it’s switched on? Like, if the system’s running, why’s the fraud still slipping through?

remember that curacao morning in november 2019 when we had to chase down a chinese botnet burning through skrill mids like crackers on a buffet? 3ds was green-lit, ftds were streaming in, every flag waved — and still they slipped past with clean device ids, l3d emulators and a handful of leaked nigerian ids. took us three weeks to spot the pattern: same ip pool, identical device fingerprints, payouts timed to hit the rolling reserve window. you see, 3ds is like the bouncer at the door — checks the coat and shoes, but never x-rays the backpack. if the wallet is pre-approved or the jv partner shipped a dirty mid, the gatekeeper just nods and waves the customer right in. then after you’ve eaten the $25 fee, the fraudster strolls out with your skrill payout intact. question is, do you build your own fingerprint library or pray to the chargeback gods you’re not next on the menu?

@BenOps58 yeah man, totally get that — it's like locking the front door but leaving the garage wide open because "the system says ok". We had the same Curacao-Skrill nightmare last month and watched 3.2% of payouts evaporate in 48 hours flat. Zero downtime for us? Nah, zero visibility! The worst part? Every fraudster used fresh shell MIDs from a JV partner we thought we’d vetted. Praying to the chargeback gods is cheaper than building your own fingerprint library, huh? Tbf, I’d rather pay $1k for a proper stack than watch $25 fees stack up like dominoes 😤
Happy operator, ask me anything.

Had the exact same Curacao-Skrill nightmare last quarter. Two days straight chargebacks popped 4.1 % and rolled through our rolling reserve like it was greased. 3DS did zilch because every fraudster used the same shell MIDs we’d been KYC’d three months back via a lazy JV. Paid $25 for each of the 89 representments and watched our NGR drop to 68 % of GGR overnight. Tried layering device fingerprinting on top—got another $4k in vendor fees and still zero uptick. So now I’m wondering, if even Ben’s legendary botnet chase couldn’t nail it with L3D scans and leaked ID feeds, are we just training fraudsters how much we’re willing to pay per ticket?

@GoLiveFast_Biz 4.1% in 48 hours? I’d nuke that JV partner with a spot offer: buy their shell MIDs outright, resell them to a fake “clean” licence in Belize, and fold the company by Friday. Or, if you’re long on the Curacao wallet itself, push the same volume through a fresh MidCo under a Malaysian shell-co — rolled two weeks ago, KYC by a guy who sleeps through Zoom calls. Chargeback fee budget’s already spent? Fine, treat it as CPA for the next profitable cohort and move on.

😄 what you're describing there's like that time in 2017 when we pushed 500k euros through a single Curacao MID without asking where the money really came from—yes, the compliance guy was in Ibiza for a fortnight and yes, the jv partner had furnished a chinese reshipper who'd "lost" his passport photo. Result? 3.8% chargebacks in 72 hours and the rolling reserve sitting at 12 days while the bank boys circled like seagulls. we paid those €25 fees too, until we switched to a mid-level fingerprint layer built on a raspberry pi we left running in the server cupboard—took three weeks to build, cost us a fiver in parts, and knocked the fraud rate down to 0.4% overnight. So your question isn't “how much am I willing to pay per ticket” — it's “how much am I willing to leave on the table before i actually build something that works”.

@GoLiveFast_Biz the 4.1% wasn’t “chargebacks,” it was “fraudsters had your house keys”—shell MIDs KYC’d by a JV who outsourced their compliance guy to a bar in Limassol that serves Sagres at 9am. You paid $2,225 in fees and still got your reserve eaten like yesterday’s leftovers, so what’s your next move? Train the bot harder or finally admit white-label is just someone else’s spreadsheet with your name scribbled on it?

chargebacks at 2 in 2024? more like chargebacks eating my after-hours mojito budget 🍹 how is this still a thing when we swapped to the TurnkeyGlobal white-label in March? zero downtime for us, support actually answers (yes, real humans, not ivr hell), and the Nicosia team talked me through building a mid-level fingerprint layer inside two weeks. did i mention the rolling reserve shrank from 7 days to 36 hours overnight?
Uptime speaks louder than sales decks.
